Our Licensed Massage Therapists:

Concentrate on painful and symptomatic areas by treating the deeper component of your musculature, thus increasing the body’s rehabilitative abilities. Massage Therapy is often used in preparation for a spinal manipulation/adjustment.  Massage relieves muscle tension and warms  the soft tissues in the area, making joints more pliable and more receptive to the adjustment.

Physical Benefits

Massage stretches and loosens muscles, improves blood flow, relieves pain, and improves immune responses.  In addition, massage facilitates the removal of lactic acid buildup from muscles, and stimulates the release of endorphins - the body's natural painkiller - into the brain and nervous system.

What to Expect From Your Massage

Many people seek therapeutic massage as a natural means to promote healthy body functioning, and to enhance the body's own restorative powers. As with any new experience, you may have questions about what to expect during your first massage session. Our therapists are open to all questions to help you achieve the best therapeutic experience. One of the first things your massage therapist will want to know is why you are getting a massage.

It is important to be an active participant in the session.  Ask questions about anything, make your wishes known, and let the therapist know if you prefer lighter or deeper technique at any time.  Above all, relax and enjoy your massage!

The Process

You will be draped with a sheet and partially unclothed under the drape, wearing your lower undergarment.  Massage sessions generally last from 25 minutes to 85 minutes depending on the type of massage you request.

A Word of Caution

There are certain health conditions in which caution should be taken when receiving therapeutic massage.  Persons with uncontrolled high blood pressure, heart disease, recent surgery, fractures, phlebitis, fever, and other problem conditions should consult their physicians for any restrictions prior to receiving a massage.  Limited restrictions apply, in some cases, and in rare cases, massage should be avoided altogether. Check with your doctor if you have any of the aforementioned conditions or any questions.
